Plants

Welcome to the Plant Kingdom! If you look around you right now I'll bet you can name a few plants you see. Are you eating them? Looking at them? Are you wearing them? Plants are all around us and we need them in our environment.

Have fun!

Lesson 3

  • As part of this lesson, you will be doing your own experiment at home to see the functions of a stem. You will need a whole piece of celery, food coloring, and a tall, clear glass or vase. Watch the following video to help you get started.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQV4ParOLbc

  •  Keep the celery in the water overnight. Write your observations the next morming in your notebook.

  • Next you will read  here about the different parts of the plant and what they each do.                 PlantParts.pptx

  • You're not done learning yet! Next you get to review one more time through this fun music video explaining the parts.

  • Now that you are an expert at plant parts, print out this page to match up the plant parts and their functions. As always, don't forget to print it out and keep it in your folder.           plantpartsmatching.doc

  • When you are finished, you can move on the Lesson 4.
